Captain China volume 2
I originally planned to have the second volume of Captain China released by August 2012, but a lot of unforeseen events delayed its production.
First of all, I was approached with an unusual business opportunity to open an Anime store here in Orlando, Florida. In all honesty, I had never really worked in retail before, so it was quite a task just trying to figure out how to put this type of business together and learning how to maintain it. Ever since the Grand Opening in August most of my days have been spent there dealing with customers and the regular day to day operations. It wasn't until I adjusted the store hours in November that I was
Captain China volume 1
The idea of "Captain China" first came about as nothing more than a joke. I originally conceived it purely as a parody comic having a hard-core communist character poking fun at the typical American super hero formula. The concept got a few good laughs among friends, and that was about as far as I was going to go with it.
Later in 2009 I took a trip to China and was exposed first hand to what the culture really is like over there. IRON MAN 2
Can't believe my first journal entry in over 2 years is going to be about a movie...
Saw Iron Man 2 yesterday and I was deeply disappointed. The movie consistently trades genuine emotions for quick laughs, which ruins a lot of the narrative and emotional tones that an audience should feel. Not once did I feel sorry for Tony's condition or even get attached to any of the characters. The villains were rendered ineffective because one was too much of a laughing stock and the other is supposed to be a tough guy but he has a thing for a cute bird. There was no sense of real danger or believability that they could pose as a real threat to Stark. D
Casual Talk
Finally got around to getting a Deviant Art account. Probably because I'm not one of those internet savvy guys. I also don't consider myself a good artist since I don't exactly like to draw. Which is very odd to say but it's true -- I produce very little art. If you give me a piece of paper and pencil and ask me to just daw something... I would stare at it and not know where to start. I can only draw when certain inspirations come to mind. But I enjoy telling stories and I can easily draw a full 30 page comic book without any problem. Penciling, inking, coloring and dialoging... doing that is as easy as breathing to me
Strange isn't it?
